Alwan for the Arts Presents
Night of 1000 Conversations: A Conversation About Immigrants Rights to Due Process
Thursday, April 5, 2007, 7:00 PM Free and open to the public
In conjunction with the Rights Working Group's Night of 1,000 Conversations Campaign, Alwan will host a conversation about immigrants’ rights and due process. We invite you to join us in this conversation as an act of solidarity with immigrants and advocates around the country who will all be taking a moment on April 5th to reflect upon the status of the U.S. judicial system and its treatment of immigrants. The goal is to have a conversation all across the country that will encourage us to: * Work toward immigration reform that restores basic civil liberties and human rights. *Protect our core values of fairness and justice. *Defend due process for everyone.
Guest Speakers Eugene Dmitriev, The New York Immigration Coalition Ash Rao, Action Wednesday And You!
Your participation in this conversation is critical! We hope you will take the opportunity to both learn more about the practice of detention and deportation in the U.S. and share your experiences as immigrants, friends, and/or family members of immigrants. All viewpoints are welcome!
