From intimate duos to exhilarating group playing, the ensemble brings an array of textures and moods, blending fiery vocals, mournful taqasims, driving percussion, and complex harmonies. In addition to Balkan Tales, Vlada leads New York’s Bulgarian Women’s Choir, Yasna Voices, and her work with Balkan Beat Box has received international acclaim, topping world music charts. Her voice is featured on National Geographic's touring exhibit King Tut, and was heard at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Italy. Vlada's recent appearances include the 2006 Montreal International Jazz Festival, Toronto's Small World Festival, and New York's Summer Stage and Joe's Pub.
