A fantastic look at the art, culture, design, architecture and people of Nubia over two generations by Fathy Hussein, a native Nubian, born July 1919, and his son, Hussein Fathy Hussein.

Fathy Hussein's career in photo journalism began in 1940, with shots of daily life in the tumultuous WWII era. He joined AL-AHRAM newspaper in 1950. By the 60's he had taken thousands of pictures of Egyptian arts, sports, royal and presidential ceremonies. Hussein Fathy Hussein followed his in father's footsteps. His first book, released in 2004 - "Alexandria -The ancient parliament in the Mediterranean" includes 70 rare photos narrating city life in the late 19th century and the early 20th century. He is currently the head of AL-AHRAM's photo center in Alexandria.
