Benefit Event: Fundraiser for Tahrir Square Field Hospital, with the Alwan Arab Music Ensemble
Sun, December 4, 2011 8:00 pm at Alwan for the Arts
Join the Alwan Arab Music Ensemble for a concert benefitting the field hospitals in Tahrir Square.
Suggested donation: $25 (nobody turned away)
Since the beginning of the uprising in Tahrir Square, many of Egypt's medical professionals have volunteered their time to staff the field hospitals set up to treat wounded protesters. Many in the non-medical field have also volunteered their time and financial assistance to secure medication and supplies for these volunteer-run hospitals, providing a necessary service to the revolutionaries, and supporting their efforts.
In the past few days as tensions have risen between state security forces and the protestors, these field hospitals have reopened their doors to treat the wounded.
Alwan for the Arts is pleased to donate its space for this benefit concert, supporting the musicians of the Alwan Arab Music Ensemble whose initiative created this event.
We hope to see you and to have your support. Please note that you may also donate online. Suggested donation is $25.
